Aware Launches AwareID Plug-in Offering Secure and Frictionless Experiences for WordPress-Based Sites Running WooCommerce

Online Gaming Platform Operators Can Now Activate Sophisticated Biometrics-Based Compliance and Fraud Prevention Solution In As Little As Three Minutes

BURLINGTON, MASS. – May 8, 2024 – As online casino gambling and sports betting are legalized across more states, platform operators face new and dynamic compliance as well as fraud prevention hurdles. Specifically, they must verify: Where is the player physically located at the moment? Is this player of legal age within that state? Is this player attempting to open a duplicate account to fraudulently gain access to special incentives or rewards that may come with a first-time account opening?

To meet these compliance and fraud prevention needs,  Aware, Inc.  (NASDAQ: AWRE) has announced an AwareID plug-in for platform operators running WooCommerce, the open-source, fully customizable e-commerce platform built on WordPress. These platform operators can now be up and running on an extremely player-friendly, web browser-based biometric authentication (facial recognition) solution in as little as three minutes.

Furthermore, these biometric capabilities—accessible to players across mobile devices or any computer equipped with a camera—will detect players trying to create duplicate accounts at the point of enrollment. This means previously enrolled players will not be able to fraudulently access specialized one-time promotions or rewards that may come with the opening of a new account.
